As you know we are in the final stages of completing a major renovation of the Episcopal Church Center, Ocean Beach 1n partnership with Watkins Landmark Construction Company. Our relationship with you began with a very quick, positive response from Dean Schumacher saying, “Yes, We are interested!” I will not forget how Dean responded and upon reflection, his response was the foreshadowing of an almost six-month period of quality and efficient services coupled with positive and constructive interaction.
Our Center has remained open during the construction period as we felt we could not stop serving meals or providing services to needy men, women, and children. Watkins was particularly attentive to our priorities and worked around the times we were in full-service mode with a positive, forging ahead, and a let’s-get-the-job-done mindset.
We had high expectations during the construction process to meet a couple of benchmarks because we were celebrating the Diocese of San Diego’s 40th anniversary the Episcopal Church Center declination, our annual convention, and the visit of the presiding bishop, all on the same weekend! You and the Watkins Team went out of your way by working on weekends, scheduling subcontractors efficiently, and orchestrating the workload so that we met the benchmarks with smiles on our faces.
I cannot say enough about the Watkins team. From our first visit with you and your management group to the daily contact with Bill Bagby. David Torres, Kristian Burchart, and Adrian Roman. Everyone works hard to make sure that we, the customers, are completely satisfied with the end results. Bill deserves a special note. He has been and continues to be here daily, on weekends, and whenever something is happening. Bill possesses a rare combination of astute professionalism, knowledge, and experience, and heartfelt caring. His attention to us the customer makes this project a pleasure.
Watkins-Landmark, you truly are part of this transformational journey with us. Thank you for your creativity, hard work, and pleasant demeanor. These characteristics and gifts will live a long time, everywhere in our newly renovated space.
