Build To Serve

Hello,

Jody on Mount AconaguaIt feels good to be back! If you read last month’s opening article from our new Director of Business Development Loren Waldapfel, I had the privilege (and the pain) of climbing Aconcagua. With the summit at 22,800 feet (video link), Aconcagua is the tallest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas in Asia. Reaching the summit of this great mountain is my biggest mountaineering accomplishment to date.

At a little over 3 weeks on the mountain, this is the longest time I have ever spent away from my company in the 18 years we have been in business. Fortunately, I have returned to some great news on the Mars Mixed Use and Lindo Paseo Student Housing project awards. Unfortunately, I missed an epic Holiday Party. From what our President Dennis Dizon has told me, it was one of the best company Holiday Parties ever.

Thank you for all of your comments and suggestions on our newsletter over the years. We truly try to incorporate the best of your remarks into our periodical. You can always click on my name Jody James Watkins and email me with any observations or critiques.

Tamarisk Commercial Kitchen Project Achieves TCO

By Krysten Santiago, Business Development Coordinator

A big congratulations to the team at the Tamarisk Country Club Commercial Kitchen project who achieved Health Department finals and a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) from the City of Rancho Mirage building official. Obhi and the team overcame many unforeseen challenges and turnover in personnel, but maintained a positive attitude and relationship with our clients. With the approval to open, the kitchen is now fully functional, and serving up delicious meals with a larger cooking area and upgraded equipment!

The Project Management team consists of Obhi Dewan (Project Manager), Keagen Fritz (Assistant Superintendent), Reuben Bravo (Senior Project Engineer) and Lisa Karp (Project Coordinator)

Culture Section: 2022 WLC Annual Holiday Party

Our annual Watkins Landmark Holiday Party was held on December 3rd at the Califino Tequila Tasting room. Although Jody was not in attendance, he was there in spirit as he made his trek up to the summit of Aconcagua. A big thank you to Brianne English and Jarisa Welles for organizing this amazing event for employees, families and friends!
